ABOUT
OUR STORY
We are The Cotswold Goodlife company (Home of Cotswold Chickens). A family business based on our farm, in the beautiful Warwickshire setting on the Oxfordshire border. 2023 will be our 11th year selling Christmas Trees and in that time we have developed an enviable reputation for the Quality of our Trees and the standard of our customer care and service.
We want to be known for making our customers happy by providing great products and service with a smile; in short, we want everyone who visits us to have a great experience. We choose our team members by the measure of this standard.
It wasn't that long ago that I was the family member tasked with choosing and buying the "Allen Family Christmas Tree" I still bear some of the scars that making the wrong choice can bring! This experience is vital because I carry with me when selecting the trees that we sell here.
OUR TEAM

CHRISTMAS TREE CARE
Thank you for choosing a locally grown Goodlife Christmas Tree from our small family business. Because our trees are grown in Warwickshire, they have a much shorter travel time and are cut much later than ones produced abroad, which means that they have the dual benefits of staying fresher for longer and a much-reduced Carbon footprint.
Try to find a place where there is an accessible power source for your lights and remember to protect your flooring from needle drop and watermarks. When displaying trees indoors, avoid placing them too close to a fire or radiator, as this will cause excessive moisture loss and needle drop. Keep the netting on until you have the tree securely placed in its stand or receptacle.

Cut trees
-
When you get the tree home, saw 2.5cm (1in) off the bottom with a pruning saw, feel free to ask us to do this for you.
-
Place your tree in a stand with a well of water in the base the Goodlife Quick stand is ideal for this. There is some anecdotal evidence to suggest that Lemonade of the addition of sugar to the water can help keep your tree fresher for longer.
-
Check the level daily and top up as necessary.
-
With care, cut trees should last about four weeks.

Potted trees
-
To reduce stress and damage to living trees, display them in a cool room.
-
Bring trees indoors as late as possible – the weekend before Christmas is ideal.
-
Do not keep living trees in the house any longer than 12 days, but be guided by the tree. If it looks unhappy, put it back outside.

Either plant the tree out in the garden after Christmas or (if you want to bring it indoors again next year). Grow your tree in a container, moving it into a bigger pot annually until you reach the maximum size that can be moved comfortably; Soil-based "John Innes No 2" potting compost is ideal.
